Welcome to the "Initiatives" module, where you can take proactive steps to decrease avoidable emissions and work towards achieving your emission reduction targets. Here's how you can effectively use this module:

## Roadmap and Initiatives

In the "Initiatives" module, you can take proactive steps to reduce avoidable emissions and work towards achieving your emission reduction goals. To effectively utilize this module, follow the steps below:

### **Creating Initiatives**

Start by creating initiatives designed to reduce your organization’s carbon emissions. These initiatives can include specific projects, actions, or strategies aimed at minimizing your environmental impact.

### **Forecast Graph**

The Forecast Graph helps you visualize the impact of your initiatives on future emissions over the next five years. This graph projects future emissions based on your current emission data and business-as-usual scenarios, allowing you to see how your initiatives will influence your carbon footprint.

### **Realized Initiatives**

As you implement each initiative, update its status in the module to "realized." This allows you to track the progress of each initiative and monitor how they contribute to your overall emission reduction strategy.

### **Emission Reduction**

Define your five-year emission reduction target by setting a base year and entering complete emission data. This target reflects the emission levels you aim to achieve within the specified timeframe, helping you stay focused on your goals.

### **Tracking Progress**

Continuously monitor the progress of your initiatives and their contributions to your overall emission reduction strategy. Regularly updating the status of realized initiatives will help you evaluate their effectiveness.

### **Data Validation**

Ensure the accuracy and reliability of your base year emission data. Verified and well-documented data provide a solid foundation for setting realistic targets and measuring your achievements.

### **Refining Strategies**

Based on insights gained from the forecast graph, you can fine-tune your strategies and adjust initiatives to maximize their impact on emission reduction.

## How to add new initiative?&#x20;

To add a new initiative in CarbonZE, follow these steps:

1. **Click "Add Initiative"**: Navigate to the Initiatives page and click the "Add Initiative" button to start creating a new initiative.
2. **Define Initiative Name**: Give a clear and concise name to the initiative, reflecting its purpose and objective.
3. **Select Scope**: Choose the scope to which the initiative will contribute to emission reduction. This could be specific emission scopes, such as Scope 1, Scope 2, or Scope 3, depending on the area you want to target for reduction.
4. **Set Emission Reduction Goal**: Specify the goal for emission reduction. You can define the target in terms of absolute emissions reduction or as a percentage reduction compared to a baseline year.
5. **Determine Emission Impact**: Indicate whether the initiative will lead to a decrease or increase in emissions. The "increase" function can be used for initiatives that contribute to the growth of the company, such as expanding operations or market presence.
6. **Select Initiative Status**: Choose the status of the initiative from three options - "Active," "Expired," or "Draft." Active initiatives will be reflected in the graph, providing a clear overview of progress. Expired and draft initiatives will not be displayed in the graph, but you can keep them for reference or future use.
7. **Save and Confirm**: Once you have filled in the necessary information, click on the "Save" button to add the initiative. Confirm your entry, and the new initiative will be added to your list.

By following these steps, you can easily add new initiatives in CarbonZE and monitor their impact on emissions through the graph. The flexibility to include both emission-reducing and emission-increasing initiatives allows you to create a comprehensive sustainability plan that aligns with your organization's growth objectives while effectively reducing your carbon footprint.&#x20;
