# Target setting

Welcome to the Science-Based Emission Targets Page

This tool allows you to set ambitious, science-based emission reduction targets for your organization. Below is a guide on how to effectively use this page:

### **Select Facilities**

Choose the facilities for which you want to set emission reduction targets. You can target specific facilities or apply these targets across all facilities within your organization. Focusing on specific facilities enables a more customized approach to emission reduction.

### **Base Year Data**

To set meaningful targets, provide historical emission data for the selected facilities. This data will serve as the baseline against which your progress will be measured. Ensure the accuracy and verification of this data to establish robust targets.

### **Choose Targets**

Decide on your emission reduction targets, aiming to limit global warming to either 1.5 or 2 degrees Celsius. These science-based targets align with international efforts to combat climate change and contribute to a sustainable future.

### **Net Zero Scopes**

Identify the scopes (Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3) for which your organization aims to achieve net-zero emissions. Scope 1 covers direct emissions from your operations, Scope 2 includes indirect emissions from purchased electricity, and Scope 3 encompasses other indirect emissions related to your value chain.

### **Set the Targets**

Based on the selected facilities, base year data, emission targets, and net-zero scopes, establish ambitious and achievable emission reduction targets. These targets should align with the latest climate science and support your organization's sustainability objectives.

### **Collaborate and Engage**

Involve relevant stakeholders in the target-setting process and communicate your emission reduction commitments both internally and externally. Collaboration and transparency are essential to fostering collective action and driving meaningful change.

By setting science-based emission targets, you demonstrate your commitment to combating climate change and contribute to a greener and more sustainable future. If you need assistance or have any questions, our support team is here to guide you through the target-setting process. Together, let’s build a resilient and low-carbon future.
